For more than 30 years, Figure Skating Club of Omaha and the Blade & Edge Figure Skating Club have co-hosted the Omaha Winter Festival. This event is an annual non-qualifying competition that takes place in February at McLean Arena in Hitchcock Park. The Omaha Winter Festival regularly attracts more than 200 competitors, representing 20 clubs from a seven-state Midwest region. In addition, US Figure Skating judges travel from across the nation to judge this event. The Omaha Winter Festival offers events for basic skills through senior level and adult skaters that include free skating, compulsory, spins, jumps, and showcase.
